Before Treatment
- 3-4 weeks of hair growth is ideal for waxing. All hair should be a minimum on ¼ of an inch long.
- Prior to waxing trim all hair to a ¼ of an inch but no shorter. This will really help minimize discomfort.
- If you prefer take a pain reliever 45-60 minutes before waxing - it will help with the discomfort.
- Consult the esthetician prior to the treatment if you are taking Retin A or Accutane
- Ideally, the client will have little or no caffeine in their system. Caffeine heightens sensitivity.
- Skin tends to be more sensitive 2-3 days prior to your monthly cycle.
- If you are really nervous and/or sensitive you can purchase EMLA cream with a prescription from your doctor which numbs the area and will greatly minimize the pain. This must be applied approximately 1 hour prior waxing.
- Most importantly, RELAX! It will be a lot less painful than you think and you will be loving the results!
